I have just started putting these mug mats on my web site. I usually only sell these out of the shop, but since my business seems to be mostly an online business, I figure I better get them on the web site, if I want to sell them at all.
So, just for the heck of it, I am going to give a set of 4 mug mats to one of my readers. The only requirement is that you leave a comment. I will put the names in a basket, and draw a name out on Sunday.
And you get to pick a color!!!! How can ya' hate it????
It is cold here in NY, and I cleaned my fabric mess at the studio. It started with me searching for fabric for a custom rug, and realizing that I couldn't open the door to the pantry, where much of my stash is located. So, once I reached in like an octopus, and pulled enough stuff out the door, so I could open it, I got kind of crazy.
I dragged everything that was on the floor, out. Then I started going through it, organizing it in plastic totes, and finding homes for them. It felt very good to get it done.
I did have time to weave some placemats. I am loving this color.

Can you believe there are orange threads in there??? Who would have thought???

I also took some time to walk around the yard, to see what I had in store for me......and the answer is, lots of work. Makes me tired just thinking about it.
I bought a snowball bush a couple of years ago, because my mother used to have a gigantic one, that I always loved. This one seems to be thriving.

Isn't is pretty?

So that's it for now.
The porch is done, the first sunny day means photos, and I will show you the wonderful results.
Don't forget to get in on the giveaway.
Looking forward to porch pics! And love your mug mats, but I'm saving up for a jeans rug. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe mug mats look great, as do the placemats! Anything red is always good.
ReplyDeleteThe bush. The orange thread. The mug mats. What's not to love about all of it.
ReplyDeleteReally think the orange thread adds a great touch!

Orange is a most surprising color!
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of creeping charlie looking at me from a couple of my flower beds. How did that happen?
Allways love to peek at your productive rug stacks,
ReplyDeleteyou inspired me to clean off my loom bench and get
some work done. Your colour choice is allways a joy!
Thank you,
Eve
Ack! I love it all! Love that color with the orange threads on it. I am really no good at picking warp colors. Snowball bushes remind me of my mom too - and walking home from elementary school. Put my name in the hat please!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the snowball bush!! Lovely!
ReplyDeleteThe mug mats are so darn cute....I'd love some!
Roxie over at another blog put some of her snowball flowers into vases with food coloring in the water and the flower petals became tipped with color - much like we used to do with daffodils in the spring as kids. Mine are past that point, but I will do it next year.
ReplyDeleteI would love some mug rugs!! That are simply beautiful!
It's cold here in PA, too.
ReplyDeleteI never win ANYTHING!
But I'll give it a try. A mug mat would go well with hot tea.
The orange string is the popper.
ReplyDeleteI love snowball bushes, the blooms dry very easily for winter bouquets.
I'll take a set, please, I never win but I'll keep trying.
Oh the little mats are so cute! I had plans in my head to weave a set and here yours are looking so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI am anxiously waiting to see your new porch. Every time you show your close-ups of the rugs and am always impressed how even your weft is.
ReplyDeleteNicely done.
That snowball plant brought back a memory of my son at aged 3 or 4 having to apologize to the next door neighbor for whacking off all the petals from his plant. I wish that plant was still there. Now there's a huge pine tree which blocks all the sun in my yard which isn't nearly as green as it should be. Maybe if I tried Benita's food colouring trick in green.. but I dye-grass.. ;)
ReplyDeleteHilary I LOVE your new place mats. We had snow today in South Dakota and it was very gloomy, so those lovely place mats brightened up my day. Thanks!

De-lurking just to say how much I love your site and your rugs and...
ReplyDeleteplease pick me!!!
Wet, wet, wet gloomy day here. Maybe my day would be brighter if I get lucky for a change and win something? :) I won't hold my breath, not often do I get my name drawn!
ReplyDeleteThe mug rugs are great. Is the 'snowball bush' it' s real name. I don't know if I have ever seen one or heard the name but love the look of it and it's name...goes with the weather about now...three nights of frost warnings here in RI and have used the wood stove for the last two days...enough now.
ReplyDeleteI love the mug mats. I really like the orange threads in the placemats. They really make the colors pop. I wish I had your energy as I am dealing with a couple of health issues and haven't been weaving as much lately. Your blog always brightens my day.
ReplyDeleteI adore your weaving - so much! Please toss me name in for the mug mats...I've admired them for ages!!
ReplyDeleteYour snowball bush is GLORIOUS!!
Those placemats are going to be fantastic!
ReplyDeleteLove the mug mats, would love to win a set. They are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI've been admiring your work for months now, and am inspired to buy my first loom!!!! Also will be getting with Chris Gustin for some individual lessons this summer!!!!! Thanks!

The close up photo of the snowball flower is so pretty it could be frame and a piece of art. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI am not a pink person (no girly girl in me) but I like what you've done with it in your placemats.
I just found your site (someone gifted me a Union Loom No. 36) looking for inspiration and boy did I find it! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing... love your blog.
ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteThose look like lovely mug mats!
I like to stop by your blog and read a bit and look at the gorgeous pictures, it's always a joy to see what you've been up to.

Mug mats! Now that's a thought. I bought a toy 2-harness loom at a show last Fall with the idea that I'd teach myself to use a 2-harness loom. I need to start small because the width of the loom is only about 8 inches. I think I'll go with mug mats instead of the scarves I was thinking of making.
ReplyDeleteI love snowball bushes. When I was a child, we had a HUGE one by the fence next to the house. My mother would drain the wash water from our old wash machine on the back porch onto that bush. Whatever was in that wash water, I don't know, but that snowball bush sure loved it.
I planted one of snowball bushes in my yard also -- but it is under a foot of water right now -- we got totally flooded last night with too much rain too fast -- ugh -- there goes my garden this year...so...it would really cheer me up if I won some of your mug rugs!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Hilary!
ReplyDeleteGreat blog! It's very inspirational-I've just started weaving in addition to my artwork.
What a great idea for the mug mat giveaway! :) Please put my name in too, I love your work!

Love the pics of the snowball. My MIL used to have one, along with lots of other flowers that we would cut and take to decorate the family graves on Memorial Day. The kids loved shaking off the petals. Love the mats!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your blog and your weaving. Fun to hear about a different part of the country from here in sunny So. Cal.!
ReplyDeleteI'd be thrilled to win the mug mats.
Please let me in on this giveaway, Hilary. And to other readers, I have a set of these beverage mats and they're great.
ReplyDeleteIf I won, I'd choose the brown/light blue.
Stevie Ray is playing. Cool.
I like the orange thread. Love the snowball bush and am hoping I can be the owner of some mug rugs. Thank you for making my day brighter.

Love the red on your loom. I'd also love to win a set of mug mats!
